ESTELA COURSE - DESCRIPTION
The Estela Golf Club is located by the River Alto near Póvoa de Varzim. This course is a Links Course constructed on a three kilometres sandy base along the beach and with little vegetation. Golfers will find that they are exposed to the influencing winds. In an attempt to shelter from what can be at times a strong wind and at the same time to make the course more attractive some 400.000 shrubs and trees have been planted. Many golfers have commented that the greens are among the fastest to be found in Portugal.



In 1991 this course hosted the Portuguese Open and more recently was chosen for the European International Amateur Championships.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS TO FIND THE COURSE
Take the IC-1 from Porto and turn right to Estela after Póvoa de Varzim Exit. Pass back under the IC-1 and head west towards the coast. At the EN 13 turn left and drive south you will find shortly direction signs to turn right to the course.
